Al Amana Centre Newsletter 06/2025
Director’s corner
At the Al Amana Centre, we believe peace begins with relationships—built through trust, dialogue, and shared experience. In a world marked by deep divides, our mission is more important than ever: to create safe spaces where people from different cultures and faiths can come together, listen, and learn from one another.
This life-changing work happens because of generous people like you.
Every month, supporters help make it possible for participants from countries like Nigeria, Palestine, and the United States—and many more—to come to Oman and engage in meaningful, transformative experiences of peacebuilding and reconciliation.

“Being in Oman has taught me a lot, but the most beautiful thing that really will influence my interactions in my own country is to be supportive, patient, and kind to all the people regardless of their background. This program was truly special and deeply moved me. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have participated in it!” -Dima, Palestine
Today, we invite you to join us in a special way—by becoming a Monthly Donor.
Our goal this June is to welcome 50 new monthly donors giving $25, $50, or $100. Your consistent support will provide the opportunity for more participants in 2025 and beyond.
Would you consider helping each month to give more people the opportunity to participate in meaningful and transformational experiences? Become a monthly donor!
Together, we can cultivate peace—one experience, one relationship, one month at a time.
With Peace,
Joshua Bode
Director of Operations and Ecumenical Affairs

Reflections from participants
The Reformed Church in America (RCA) has supported the Oman mission since the 1890s. This strong partnership has evolved from a medical and education mission to what Al Amana is today- a place with unique history, context, and geography to create a space for relationship among Muslims, Christians, and other religions in a way that promotes tolerance, mutual understanding and empathy, reconciliation and Shalom/Salam. We at Al Amana Centre are humbled, grateful and honored to follow in the footsteps of dedicated people of faith.*
In May, Joshua Scheid, General Synod President, his wife Kathryn, and Scott Engelsman, RCA Chief Mission Officer, visited Oman to hear about our rich history and experience the uniqueness of Oman and Al Amana Centre as a place that creates space for relationships.
*Stay tuned for the final product of a historical documentary, being made by Oman Cultural Channel, that Justin and Mohammed are a part of. We were told that it would be broadcasted in July!
