Al Amana Centre Newsletter 07/2026
Despite the challenges facing the world today, Al Amana Centre remains committed to bringing people together, fostering mutual understanding, and exploring both our differences and common values.
From June 20th to 28th, the Executive Director and Associate Director of AAC led a group of eight Omani students on a trip to Munich, accompanied by the Associate Dean and the Head of the International Relations Department. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the Modern College of Business and Science in Muscat and the Munich College of Interreligious Studies. Our primary goal was to educate students about German culture and faith by providing meaningful opportunities to learn about others.
The students embarked on a life-changing experience that included an introduction to the German language, visits to various historical and cultural sites, and meetings with both local and international students.
The trip was a great success. The feedback from the students has been incredibly positive, leaving us confident and motivated to develop even more productive programs in the future.

Reflections from Participants
In June, Omani university students and two professors travelled to Munich, Germany, with Justin and Mohammed for a cultural program. Through short-term experiential learning experiences, the Centre provides transformative learning that helps participants journey on a path from tolerance to mutual understanding, empathy toward respect and reconciliation that leads to Shalom/Salam.
Here are some participant thoughts immediately after the program:
- “I would feel more confident in my conversations and elaboration of how communities are outside my country. People need to know that respecting one another and having empathy towards each other is where good nations thrive. This journey will continue to grow for me and not only in a span of 6 months.” Kaltham Al Kindi
- “It will make me more open to be interactive with international students.” Hanan Alumairi
- “My time in Germany will influence the way I interact with my local community by making me more open, patient, and understanding. I learned that dialogue, respect, and listening can build bridges between people, even when they come from different backgrounds. I want to bring this spirit back home and encourage more meaningful conversations in my community.” Miaad Al hajri
- “I learned more about the people here and I have a better understanding of them and learnt to judge less.” Participant
